Kemebourama Etude

Kemebourama Etude is a tune that I designed for kora learners with a clear structure and easy to memorize parts.

This traditional tune of the Mande repertoire is dedicated to Keme Bourama.
Keme Bourama was the younger brother of Almamy Samory Touré, one of the biggest opponent of the French colonials.
Kémè Bourama, commander of all his armies, died in Sikasso (nowadays Mali), in 1887. Kémè Bourama can only be sung with reference to his elder brother, and that for a traditional reason (primogeniture).

I composed this version for kora learners, with a clear structure, so that students can learn it easily.
